Explore How a Facelift and Other Treatments Can Improve Your Appearance

If you feel like your skin makes you look older than you really are, a facelift or other cosmetic improvement may help. If you have wrinkles, age spots, spider veins, acne scars or any other blemishes or imperfections, it is important to try the most minimally invasive techniques first. If you are not completely satisfied with the results, other options are available. Cosmetic improvement options we offer are:

Microdermabrasion

Using microcrystals in a gentle abrasion instrument, microdermabrasion exfoliates and removes the blemished, uneven outer layer of the skin to reveal a new, fresh appearance and softer skin. The technique may reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as age spots, discoloration, and light scarring, improving the overall appearance of the patient.

Skin peels

A variety of light chemical peels are available. The Alpha Beta and Glycolic peels offer immediate results and zero recovery time. They use alpha hydroxy acids to exfoliate old, unsightly skin and regenerate new skin. Like microdermabrasion, they improve the appearance of age spots, discoloration, fine lines and other superficial blemishes. The TCA peel is a stronger peel that may require a few light peel treatments to produce the desired results. This peel removes deeper wrinkles and acne scars to reveal younger looking, blemish-free skin beneath. For this peel, a 3 to 5 day recovery period will be required.

Laser skin resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing, often referred to as photorejuvenation, uses lasers and concentrated pulsed light therapy to treat skin discoloration, acne scars, birthmarks, age spots, wrinkles and other blemishes. The light therapy removes the epidermis and stimulates the growth of collagen fibers that will regenerate new, smoother and brighter skin.

Botox®

During a Botox® treatment, the muscles that have become tense with age will be relaxed. Tense muscles cause wrinkles. The Botox® treatment allows the skin to smooth out, providing a younger appearance. This procedure is short and does not require a recovery period. Many patients prefer it to other cosmetic improvements because the results only last a few months, so if they do not like the look, it is not permanent.

Facelift

This procedure, also known as a rhytidectomy, actually lifts the skin around the face, providing a permanent tauter and more youthful appearance. It tightens the skin, smoothing out wrinkles in the forehead, at the sides of the eyes and around the jawline. A recovery period of one to two weeks will be required for incision sites to fully heal and sutures to be removed or dissolved. Scarring is minimal and will be easily concealed by the hairline or makeup.

While these are some of the most commonly used cosmetic improvement procedures, there are many more to choose from. We will make a recommendation regarding the procedure we feel would be best for you after conducting an examination.
