For a complete set of dentures, the gum base is secured around your gums. In both scenarios, you have to remove your dentures at night for cleaning and soaking. Since the solution is removable it leads to levels of insecurity when eating, speaking, or engaging in activities like running a race. The challenge is that these insecurities, whether real or imagined, can then negatively impact how people live their lives. The body reacts to titanium in an incredibly unique manner. It treats titanium the same way that it would natural matter so when the titanium is secured to your jawbone the body begins to deposit bone around the actual post. This results in a process called osseointegration. Your dental implant essentially becomes part of your body and in so doing replaces your lost root system. It takes a couple months for this process to completely take place but once it has, we can secure a new tooth to an abutment that is attached to your implant. Once the process is complete your new tooth will look like a natural one and it will behave like a natural one.
